Office Consultations

Your doctor may refer you to a nephrologist for a variety of reasons. Most often, he has detected some sort of abnormality in the results of certain blood or urine tests you may have completed. For example, your doctor may detect signs of hematuria (blood) or proteinuria (protein) in your urine and wants a specialist’s opinion.

Sometimes your doctor may send you to a nephrologist because your blood pressure is irregular. Many autoimmune (i.e., lupus) or electrolyte disorders can also affect the kidneys. Patients who struggle with controlling their diabetes may be referred here as well.

During your visit, we will discuss the reasons you are here, help identify any conditions you may have, and develop a comprehensive treatment plan that’s right for you.
